Echoes of Eden Newsletter - October, 2007

Welcome to the first edition of the Echoes of Eden Newsletter!

My family and I want to welcome you to the first ever Echoes of Eden Newsletter. We are so excited about being able to communicate with those that have a desire to keep a finger on the pulse of our ministry.

As many of you already know, we shifted the focus of our creation ministry from our local church (Victory Baptist Church in Shelbyville, Tennessee) to a broader audience in June of this year. There were many events in our lives that led to the decision to allow God to "enlarge our coast" (I Chronicles 4:10). We want to thank those that have prayed and advised us along the way. As with any ministry that gets started, there are often questions of whether or not it was the right thing to do or the right time to do it. In the few short months since starting this ministry we have seen God time and time again provide confirmation that this is indeed what He would have us to do. As a Christian, we can think of nothing more exciting than seeing God's hand at work.

It is our desire to use this monthly newsletter as a means of keeping you up-to-date with what's going on with Echoes of Eden. If you feel that anything should be added or deleted from future newsletters please let us know so we can properly communicate the news and needs of the ministry.

Many of you have personally invested in our ministry these past few months, through love offerings, book purchases, and prayers. We want to thank you for the trust you have shown in us and want you to know that we sincerely seek to be accountable to those that invest in us, both spiritually and financially. If you ever have any questions about the details of our ministry please do not hesitate to contact us.

Ministry News

Earlier in the year we heard about the recent discovery of two of the famous Ica burial stones, which depict dinosaurs and man living contemporaneously. Dr. Dennis Swift, one of the leading experts on the Ica stones, recently returned from a trip to Peru where he was able to acquire one of the stones for our ministry. Once the proper research has been completed on the stone, we will be carrying it with us to our meetings and using it as another tool to show that the Bible is accurate from the very first verse!

Recent Meetings

June 10-11 at Fellowship Baptist Church in Tullahoma, Tennessee
Our meeting at Fellowship was special for many reasons. The most obvious is that it was our first meeting outside of our home church, but it was even more special because the pastor, Bro. Rick Everhart, first approached us about speaking long before we ever considered broadening the scope of our ministry. Bro. Rick was a huge encouragement to us and we want to thank him for the great job he is doing there in Tullahoma and for his willingess to be the guinea pig for our ministry!

August 1-3 at the Tekoa Baptist Camp Meeting in Shelbyville, Tennessee
We were able to setup our book table and briefly present the ministry to those in attendance. The response was very positive and we were able to schedule a meeting in Spring Hill next month as a result. Our thanks to Bro. Steve Freeman for the great job he did in coordinating the meeting and also for the dear friendship and advice he and his wife Barbara have given to us.

August 12-15 at Broadview Baptist Church in Winchester, Tennessee
We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves at Broadview and are truly indebted to Pastor Rudy Wilkinson, who not only went above and beyond to make us feel at home in his wonderful church, but also became our "booking agent"! Bro. Rudy was able to convince two other pastors in the area to have us come present the ministry! We want to thank Bro. Rudy for all that he has done to help get our ministry jump-started!

August 31 at Franklin Road Christian School in Murfreesboro, Tennessee
We were able to speak on Dinosaurs, Fossils, and the Flood in Mrs. Dumpert's second grade class. The students listened very well and we were able to give each of them a small booklet on "What Really Happened to the Dinosaurs?" A special thanks to Mrs. Dumpert for allowing us to have an opportunity to reach young minds with the creation message!

September 23-26 at Huntland First Baptist Church in Huntland, Tennessee
Once we were able to find our way to the right church, we had a great time! First Baptist in Huntland still owns its old church building and we sat in its parking lot for 30 minutes before realizing we were at the wrong church! Pastor Joe Plunkett was a great blessing to us and we definitely appreciate the encouragement we received throughout the week. The folks there have a sweet spirit and we really enjoyed the singing!

October 21-24 at Oaklawn Baptist Church in Winchester, Tennessee
It was a tremendous blessing to be able to get to know Pastor Ray Gardner, his family, and the folks at Oaklawn this week. The response to the message each night was overwhelming and the excitement that the creation message stirred up in the people was quite evident. I think we sold out of most of the books we carried on the book table! A special thanks to Bro. Ray (and also Bro. Joe Plunkett in Huntland) for still having us, in spite of our knowing Bro. Rudy Wilkinson!

Prayer Requests

Please help us pray for the following:

• That the Holy Spirit will use our ministry as a tool to bring others to a saving knowledge of Christ
• That people's faith will be strengthened in the churches that we have recently attended and are about to attend
• That we will continue to have doors open for more meetings
• That we will receive conclusive findings from the Ica stone research
• That we will have wisdom in making the day-to-day spiritual and financial decisions
